It has been announced that Cornwall is to benefit from a new Aerospace hub, offering thousands of new jobs that recruitment agencies will be able to place workers in. Located at Newquay Airport, the new Aerohub will create a range of temporary and permanent placements, with 2,500 jobs developed for the region.

There is a lot of interest in the aerospace industry, with many seeing it as the next giant leap forward in travel. As such, the government is trying to push the sector and for those businesses settling in the new enterprise zone, tax incentives and eased planning regulations will be provided. This will make the zone a great region for technological development and will provide residents with a lucrative variety of new employment options.

Business minister Mark Prisk officially launched the new Aerohub when he attended the Farnborough International Airshow in Hampshire. Revealing the government’s interest in the sector, he said that new enterprise areas, such as the Newquay Aerohub, are “instrumental in stimulating local growth and job opportunities.” Meanwhile, it was also revealed that the Aerohub benefited from one of the longest runways in the UK, with Chris Pomfret, a member of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, adding that there was also “a nascent aerospace cluster in one of the most desirable places in the UK in which to live”.

For recruiters in the area, over 2,000 new jobs will be developed, offering a huge variety of placements for workers to be placed in.
