Recruiters are set to see rising demand for IT security professionals after it was announced that a three-month spike was being seen. With a high public media spotlight upon the problems of identity theft and the possibility of a cyber attack, an increasing number of companies are looking to protect their online operations.

Over the past two years, the demand for IT security professionals has risen by 50%. A new report showed that in the past quarter there has been particularly high demand, with even more businesses looking to safeguard their websites, accounts and other online data from hackers. It was also shown that the average daily pay rate for 2011 has risen by 6%, offering professionals working in this sector a lucrative £450 per day.

An expert in the IT security field said: “IT security jobs are more important now than ever, and are only set to rise as demand for new technologies increase as well as the methods of protecting it. The numbers of IT security jobs is a great indication of this rising trend and the increased salaries are a great incentive to encourage IT professionals in to this field.”

There is good news for recruitment agencies all round, with the Association of Professional Staffing Companies recently revealing that employment was growing and more jobs were being offered in the UK. For recruiters with IT professionals on their books, a large number of prosperous positions may come available over the coming weeks.
