If you have experience of working with children with special needs and managing a small team of support workers we would like to hear from you. We can offer a rewarding job with a bright and enthusiastic 9 year old boy who has cerebral palsy and non-verbal communication needs. He lives at home in spacious accommodation with his family, needing support in all activities of daily living including personal hygiene , feeding and dressing, and also when enjoying out of school outdoor activities such as ice skating. You will lead and manage a small team as well as providing care.
You will need to be:
- Confident about all aspects of managing the team e.g. monitoring performance and providing supervision, managing annual leave and sickness and planning rotas
- Able to work confidently and sensitively in the client’s own home
- Proactive with an encouraging approach and able to positively engage with the client
- Able to build a strong and effective team
- Able to work under your own initiative
- Able to undertake all aspects of the handling management plan using specialist equipment

You will need to be a car driver and live within reasonable travelling distance of Henham and be able to provide a minimum of 16 hours a week direct support care, which will normally be at the weekends. Some early morning and afternoon cover will also be required and occasional nights.
