This startup is on a mission to revolutionise online health services. They work with a team of in-house clinicians to create tools for speech therapy and counselling leveraging exciting technologies including WebRTC, gamified learning using real time multiplayer games, and dynamic result reporting. Their founding team consists of experienced Speech Therapists and Counsellors working alongside an innovative, full-stack engineering team to produce the first online video platform for speech therapy in the UK & Europe.
What you’ll be doing :
- Working with our counselling & speech therapy teams to understand application requirements.
- Be a key part of an agile development team, planning and implementing new features for the platform.
- Working on a new greenfield application to further strengthen and develop their market offering.
- Producing high quality engineering solutions for the existing application stack.
- Be part of the decision process for new features so that the best possible solutions are implemented into production.
- Learning new technologies, that underpin our real time video, games, containerized
event based services, modern frontend application, and cloud infrastructure.
- Deploying new features rapidly in an automated continuous delivery workflow.
- Consulting with product teams to produce well structured user interfaces and excellent user experiences.
Requirements :
You are a passionate full-stack Javascript engineer that has:
- Proven development experience with consumer facing web applications.
- Proficient in modern front-end development techniques (es6, scss, HTML5).
- Confidence with frontend javascript toolchain (e.g. webpack, babel, jest, yarn, git).
- Experience building component based UIs, ideally VueJS, but Angular & React knowledge will be accepted.
- Passion for creating clean extensible NodeJS REST APIs.
- Experience of working in an Agile team, code reviewing, and practising continuous
delivery.
- Testing experience using Jest, Mocha, Chai.
- Ideally the candidate would have awareness of database schema and SQL query design, Postgres preferable.
- Knowledge of serverless application development (desirable not required).
- Understanding of WebRTC and peer-to-peer video streaming (desirable not required).
- Experience in Amazon Web Services, including infrastructure as code: cloudformation,
terraform (desirable not required).
- Interest in web based game development, progressive web applications, and building applications for mobile devices.
