Grade 7/8 - £28,484.84 - £36,379
Full Time – 35 hours
12 month Fixed Term Contract
Based at Hendham Vale

They have an exciting opportunity as a Senior Legal Surveyor to be based at their Hendham Vale Office. As Senior Legal Surveyor you will act as Lead Officer and Expert Witness in determining legal liability and defending both Northwards Housing and Manchester City Council on allocated legal cases, through the delivery of high quality case management.

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Landlords obligations in litigation and arbitration proceedings in areas of disrepair, statutory nuisance, land ownership, illegal evictions and incidents of personal injury, providing a comprehensive and vigorous defence.

Working closely with the Legal Surveying Manager to lead and manage on designated specialist areas of work keeping within financial restraints and budgets, i.e. Service Level Agreements, Structural referrals, Dry/Wet rot.

You will be an excellent communicator who is highly organised and be able to deliver a high quality service to demanding timescales. This is a pressured and demanding role therefore a pro-active and positive approach is required to deal with challenges and issues in a helpful and professional manner.

You will have 5 years directly related experience in building surveying in the construction industry with a minimum HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in construction, and ideally hold a CSRT qualification or full membership of CIOB or RICS with 2 years directly related experience within a legal surveying environment, which is a requirement to progress to Grade 8.
