The Role:
As the senior tech in a team of 9 support staff your role is varied. Working with the Help Desk Manager and Sys Admin, and reporting directly to the senior management, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the networks, servers and the managed services they provide to our customers. An avid interest in new tech and a desire to investigate and research new services is very much encouraged.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor performance and maintain an estate of 150+ virtual servers (Exchange, TS, SQL, etc.)
- Research, recommend, plan and implement infrastructure projects
- Endpoint of escalation process for support desk
- Add to internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
- Contribute to overall IT strategy
- Working directly with senior management reporting on strategy, infrastructure and objectives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior technical role.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows server (2003 – 2016)
- Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Active Directory experience is essential
- Extensive experience working with Virtualisation technologies (VMWare / Hyper-V)
- Experience with networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
- Resourcefulness and a problem-solving aptitude
- Good communication skills
- BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline and / or professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or considerable experience in this position.
Preferred:
- Ability to create scripts in PowerShell
- Experience with Draytek & VYOS / Vyatta routers
- Experience with Veeam
- Working knowledge of GDPR regulations
- Experience with Microsoft / Amazon cloud services
- Office 365 Enterprise
- Knowledge of daily maintenance on SQL databases
