This medical practice provides services for 16,400 patients across 3 locations in Keighley and is seeking 4 positively driven part time Patient Services Assistants to work across the 3 practices.

Reporting directly to the Senior Receptionist you will have a very interactive approach with patients across the three practices with lots of variety.

They like to be flexible at the practice. The hours are ideally 30 per week. Normal hours are 8.00am – 6pm, Monday to Friday, but there may be a requirement to start earlier (7.30am) or finish later (8pm) to meet their Practice opening times.

Responsibilities:
- Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive/friendly image to patients and visitors (person/via telephone)
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team etc
- Opening/locking-up of premises and maintaining security
- Maintaining/monitoring the practice appointments system
- Processing both personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits/telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Filing/retrieving paperwork
- Processing repeat prescriptions
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies/providers
- Clearing and re-stock consulting rooms as required
- Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
- Ordering, re-ordering and monitoring of stationery/other supplies
- Dealing with clinical waste
- Provision of refreshments for staff/visitors as required; loading and emptying the dishwasher and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy
- Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy
- Carry out such duties as may reasonably be required

Requirements:
Whilst previous experience of working as a GP Receptionist is desirable, it is more important that you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with positivity, and be able to demonstrate a drive to deliver exemplary “customer” service for their patient.

Being computer literate, having good attention to detail, and being able to work effectively in a busy team environment are also important.
