A QA & Test Technician is required to join a growing and ambitious systems integrator.

They have worked across many sectors with a broad range of clients selecting cutting edge broadcast technology to design & install projects ranging from small TV studios for corporate & education clients, to larger playout facilities & video compression head ends for international broadcasters.

Role responsibilities

Their preferred candidate should have up to date experience gained from several years working in a similar role.

The role will include the following:

- Sole responsibility for quality assurance of all products prior to shipping.
- Including test & inspection of bespoke IT racks containing broadcast equipment & cabling.
- Using automated test tools to log & record all results.
- Following and implementing procedures to ensure consistent high quality
- PAT testing of electrical circuits
- Check schedules against items ordered
- Final assembly checks against build documentation
- Labelling and printing of test documents
- Suitably packing systems & products for onward shipment
- Creating shipping documentation & liaising with transport contractors
- Production stock management responsibilities include:
- Overall stock control
- Using sales forecast tools to ensure sufficient stock levels prior to system builds
- Ordering components (cable, connectors, fixings etc) via a computerised system
- Booking inventory in & out of stores
- Kitting projects from BOMs (bill of materials)
- Regular stock checks

The working week is typically Monday to Friday based on a 40 hour week, working at their Pangbourne warehouse. The role occasionally requires short term bursts of extended hours to meet customer’s deadlines.

Essential Skills

You will need to show evidence of the following:
- Ability to correctly interpret schematic wiring diagrams and technical layouts for 19” rack assemblies & cable looms
- Must be meticulous in ensuring build specifications & quality standards are adhered to
- Confident computer user with Microsoft Excel familiarity
- Logical fault-finding skills and the capacity to solve technical problems in a creative way under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail and an unerring drive for perfection
- Clear and effective communication and approachable people skills
- Confidence to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving license

Desirable Skills

- Prior experience of working on 19” equipment racks
- Experience of cable assembly and connector termination
- Experience of timely stock ordering for production deadlines
- Understanding of the electronic colour code
