This company is looking to recruit an Operations Manager to inspire and motivate their people. Manage the manufacturing functions to OTIF and RFT targets whilst ensuring the highest level of margin possible. You will play a key role, working with and reporting to the Managing Director, in defining, developing and executing the strategic operational capability and output of the business, whilst ensuring the highest standards of quality and HSE.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct a 360 degree organisational review to ensure the most effective and efficient structures are in place to manager current and future demand
- Coach, mentor and develop the operations teams.
- Define and implement a suite of meaningful KPI’s that drive OTIF and RFT.
- Develop the strategic operational road map to ensure that operational KPI’s are met.
- Manage capital investment plan without compromising output and service to customers.
- Monitor and review production trends and technologies to ensure the company are aware of any new opportunities.
- Regularly review spends on labour and material to ensure most efficient and appropriate usage of both in line with sales forecasts and trends.
- Champion and facilitate a culture of Continuous Improvement and QCD.
- Drive down WIP to optimise stockholding to ensure maximum cash availability whilst retaining desired finished products levels.
- Empower the people to find, analyse and solve production and supply chain problems with corrective actions.
- Manage output increases in line with company expectation on quality and HSE.
- Work closely with the commercial teams and MD to understand demand and forecast to ensure the appropriate resources are in place to manage OTIF.
- Support Research and Development initiatives to match capability and capacity to future products.
- Day to day line management of departmental heads including first line HR management in appraisals, Personal Development Plans and disciplinary procedures.

Education and Experience:

- Ideally chartered status.
- Six Sigma, MBA or other educational or vocational achievements are not a pre-requisite but would be advantageous.
- Previous experience of Operational Management is essential.
- Prior experience in an extrusion and injection moulding technologies would be advantageous, but not essential
- Previous experience of managing capital projects desirable.
- Experience of delivering operational improvements across all areas of production.
- BSc/MSc Mechanical Engineering desirable, HNC or equivalent as a minimum.
