This company is looking for an experienced, hands-on networking engineer to support global network engineering and operations for the world’s 2nd largest CDN.

This is not Corporate IT! You will be supporting revenue-generating services, not staff.

As a network engineer, you will cooperatively support their 160+ POP network with dozens of ISPs across the globe, including, but not limited to, POP build out &redesign, BGP optimization, ISP coordination, &daily operations.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated BGP network management experience for a large, geographically-distributed network, a strong understanding of network operational standards &best practices, hands-on troubleshooting skills, excellent written/verbal communication skills, experience working with other teams (especially service operations and engineering), &the desire to employ those skills in a fast-paced, dynamic, 24x7x365, mission-critical environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Network Operations
- Support BGP & IGP network operations, including device, network, &traffic troubleshooting &administration
- Support day-to-day service operations in EMEA, Americas &globally
- Co-work with network &other operational teams in other regions (US, China, Japan, Korea)
- Work with ISPs and IDCs to build/operate/optimize our network efficiently

Planning &Project Management
- Support network improvement project implementation
- Build POPs &support new product launches
- Support creation &improvement of global standards, policies, &procedures for reliable operations

REQUIREMENTS

Required
- BS or equivalent in a technical discipline
- 4+ years’ experience designing &administering a large-scale, highly-distributed service network for 24x7 production, preferably for revenue generation ¬ enterprise support
- 2+ years’ hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, &troubleshooting a BGP network with 5-10 POPs/locations
- Strong knowledge of Internet protocols (TCP/IP, VPN) & Ethernet troubleshooting tools and methods (Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.)
- Demonstrated expertise with layer 3 routing (e.g., OSPF) & layer 2 switching (VLAN, spanning tree)
- Working knowledge of enterprise networking tools (Splunk, Thousand Eyes) &processes (change management, incident management) in a cloud services environment
- A detail-oriented, process-focused, &inquisitive nature
- High-bandwidth, self-motivated self-starter who works well with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills (verbal/ written) &teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel as needed (<10% travel expected)
