This company is one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-quality static storage solutions, state of the art intra logistics and automated material handling systems.

They are looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer to work within a customer site based at Sainsbury’s in Bromley by Bow. You will deliver a first-class service to support this household name in delivering its products.

About the role:
You will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the fast flowing material handling equipment as well as delivering key service elements including planned preventative maintenance, fault rectification and eradication.

Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Reactive and preventative maintenance with roller and belt conveyors, automated tote storage/retrieval System, pick to light systems, sortation, carton assembly, strapping, wrapping, spiral and telescopic conveyors
- Ensuring the customer receives the agreed level of support
- Proactively promote and comply with all health and safety regulations

Please Note: This role involves working at height and may involve rescue at height.

About You:
Effective communication is essential for this role in order to balance the demands of supporting your team as well as the needs of the Customer. You will have the ability to deal with problems effectively therefore thinking on your feet quickly to deal with issues/faults proactively minimising down time and actively working to key performance indicators.

Due to the nature of the environment it is essential to have a good working knowledge of Health & Safety coupled with accredited qualifications in electrical and mechanical discipline, with thorough understanding of Mechanical engineering.Qualification/Experience Requirements:

To apply for this position, the minimum requirements are as follows:
- ONC/HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or PLC Engineering.
- Thorough knowledge and experience of SCADA Systems and WCS (Warehouse Control Systems)
- A recognised apprenticeship in an appropriate engineering discipline.
- Recognised cross training from Mechanical to Electrical Engineering of vice versa
- PLC knowledge and experience is advantageous
- Experience of automated materials handling equipment

Hours:
4 days per week comprising of 2 day shifts (4am to 4pm) and 2 night shifts (4pm to 4am) inc weekends and bank holidays.

There is a down time of 1.5 hours per week resulting in a pay back of 7 days each year over a 12 month period.
