This company specialise in the design, build and installation of bespoke control systems, factory automation systems, vision inspection, plastic container handling and robotics. They’re expanding their operations and their solutions offerings as the result of an exciting new partnership they’re looking to announce soon and as such, they’re looking to appoint an additional mechanical fitter/installer. You’ll have the opportunity to implement their solutions across a variety of industry sectors predominantly in food and beverage and plastic container handling.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, tenacious, punctual, and able to manage their own time effectively. You’ll have high standards and be described as courteous, mature and a relaxed team player. You will report to the Workshop Manager and work with a great team of individuals, who are always willing to support one another. Flexibility and a can-do attitude are a must in order to fit in and become an integral part of their team.
The role:
- The Mechanical Fitter / Assembler will be required to work both in-house and on customers’ sites.
- Working from engineering drawings:
o to build assemblies and sub-assemblies
o to build electrical and pneumatic systems
o to assemble all components using general hand tools and power tools as required
- This person is able to do general mechanical fitting and assembly including bending and fitting pipe work to a high standard and close tolerance
Skills & Experience:
- Ideally an apprentice trained and/or qualified Mechanical Fitter/Assembler
- Experienced at reading and interpreting engineering drawings and able to follow written instructions and method statements.
- Previous experience of working with electric, pneumatic systems and valves
- Experienced Mechanical Fitter/Assembler working on medium sized assemblies and sub-assemblies
- Good eye for detail and able to work on their own/part of a team
Key Requirements:
- Self-starter with the maturity to be able to work with minimal supervision but equally, knows when support is needed
- Fluent in English (second language is a plus)
- A ‘can do’ attitude (they’re a small but growing team – they don’t have room for divas!)
- Willingness to travel/work away from home on a regular basis (majority UK but also abroad) - approx. 50%
- Full UK driving licence (with 3 penalty points or less)
- Presentable and articulate
