This company is a leading provider of General Aviation avionics for communications, navigation and surveillance. They are building a strong team to deliver on their ambitious aspirations as they expand their range of products and increase their market share. They have great opportunities for highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineers to join them at this exciting phase of their growth as they are take on significant new engineering development programs in avionics.

Their Lead Engineers are responsible for delivering technical contributions and leadership to develop cutting edge avionics products. They are looking for technical professionals who prefer the creative, practical, and hands on aspects of engineering rather than those seeking to develop their career in people management.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
- Expertise in one of the following disciplines:
o Hardware design – digital or analogue
o RF design
o FPGA
- Familiarity with the other disciplines, embedded software and product industrial design
- Hands on experience of the whole product life cycle from requirements capture through implementation to validation in a small company environment
- Experience of working in an engineering research and development environment
- Experience of technical leadership in a small multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver a product or device
- High standard of technical documentation
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline

Knowledge and experience of certification of products and design for manufacture will be an advantage. Whilst avionics experience is an advantage, applications are encouraged from engineers from other sectors.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll join a small, friendly team and will demonstrate your ability to work well alongside people with various skill sets. You will have experience working with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure your product makes a smooth transition into production. You should have experienced the full product development life cycle from inception to manufacturing as you’ll have technical ownership of the complete product.

With strong communication skills, you will be able to lead technical discussions with colleagues and clearly convey complex technical concepts to clients and contractors. You’ll have a confident outlook and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
