This leading Nutraceuticals business in Wigan requires a Cost Accountant to join them for a 2-3 month contract with immediate start.
Job brief
You will provide sufficient financial insight to the business in order to ensure well informed commercial and operational decisions are made and improvement opportunities are identified.
The main objective of the role is to support the finance team in establishing the fully absorbed Product Cost of Goods, performing cost analyses and the construction of a robust ‘Future Proof’ Costing Model.
- Establish a Product COGs to populate Finished Goods Standard Cost field in SAP ERP.
- Establish a methodology for Cost Apportionment that identifies activities in the organisation and assigns the cost of each activity with resources to all products according to the actual (best assumption) consumption
- Build databases and manage cost information to maximize profitability for their company
- Building Cost Profiles for New Products and Pricing Decisions
- Establish a basis for monitoring the results of on-going Production Efficiency and Profit Improvement initiatives, and supporting Capex proposals
Skills / Capabilities
To be successful in your application for this role, you will have previous demonstrable experience of dealing with costings within a complex manufacturing environment
- Accounting qualification with at least 3 years PQE
- Possess excellent analytical skills along with the ability to combine different data and calculate profit margins.
- Strong Excel and ERP system skills are a must
- Positive attitude and aptitude for change
- Record of displaying initiative and innovative ideas
- Used to dealing with Senior non-financial managers
Salary: £150-£200 per day (2-3 month fixed term contract)
