One of the UK's leading manufacturers of bespoke metal products for the construction industry is looking to recruit a Head Of Fabrications.

This position involves the day-to-day running of their metal fabrications company, along with overall responsibility for the 11 people currently employed. As it's the most senior position of the company, it would suit someone who has plenty of experience when it comes to managing a fabricating shop, in addition to fantastic people management skills and IT skills. If you have experience with AutoCAD and CNC programming this would be advantageous.

The role based in Poole, has a high level of autonomy, reporting directly to the MD. They are ideally looking for someone local to Poole and the hours of work would be Monday-Friday, 8.30 to 4.30 with a 4pm finish Friday,

Duties:
- ensuring all processes and procedures, both within the office and workshop office, are continually improved and followed, to meet clients requirements
- In order to achieve the above, allocate work and monitor productivity, and be responsible for all staff employed
- Feedback to Managing Director overall performance and any business ideas for improvement including, as and when required, the need and benefit for extra resources; staff, machinery, software, equipment.
- Responsible for the strategic leadership of design, manufacture and installation of fabrication projects
- Identify areas for business development including new products, sectors and customer bases in addition to current product improvement.
- Carry out capital planning, costing and expenditure
- Manage potential risk throughout bespoke and repeat projects to ensure delivery is on time
- Responsible for purchasing and addressing supplier performance concerns.
- Responsible for overall quality control and ensuring all necessary checks take place and are recorded within the workshop as part of the manufacturing process, to minimise errors and wastage.
- To measure operational performance and manage the non-conformance register, recording, investigating the error, and implementing corrective and preventative action
- Responsible for effectively dealing with customer complaints
- To work with the HR & Compliance Manager to manage disciplinary, capability and grievance matters for all staff employed
- Carry out 1-2-1s at the intervals set, advising staff on their performance including things gone well and areas for improvement and any further training required.
- Responsible for ensuring all machinery is kept well maintained and that fabrications' operations are in line with all relevant legislation
- Responsible for hazard control, writing and reviewing risk assessments.
-To identify areas for waste reduction and ensure that Fabrications is working in line with achieving its objectives relating to quality, the environment and H+S
