This is an opportunity to join a precast concrete manufacturing company, based in Bridgwater, Somerset. They manufacture precast concrete components, including stairs, landings, terrace units, T-beams and other specialist components.
They are now looking for operatives to join them working primarily with general precast, involved in making stairs and landings. Work will include assisting in the making of moulds, making steel cages, pouring concrete, finishing concrete products, assisting in lifting operations, picking orders, stock control and other general duties as required.
Specific roles available include:
- Trainee Steel Fixer (Apprenticeship available if preferred).
- General concrete worker/finisher.
- Forklift operator/general operative.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, hardworking and reliable. A positive attitude to health and safety is also key. Training will be given on the job so you must also be keen to learn.
As a small company, it is essential that the candidate is flexible and willing to work in areas other than their main duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing moulds for pouring concrete
- Assisting in making up steel cages
- Pouring and vibrating concrete
- Finishing concrete to achieve the required quality standards
- Taking concrete cube samples
- Assisting in lifting operations
- Assisting with stock control and handling
- Accurate record keeping and other paper work as required (Basic IT skills)
