This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced CTO / Senior Technical Leader to join a large UK based company in the education sector. The company is a leader in the sector and is looking to expand further.
Do you have good tech “hands-on” experience and strong commercial acumen?
They are looking for someone to help create the vision of the future of the company. The successful candidate will build a development team around them in a new Leeds based office (which the candidate will help choose). The company wants to expand it’s digital offering and really push innovation in the sector, the candidate will be a fundamental part of this expansion.
As the CTO you will be involved in the wider life cycle of all the projects the company progresses with. This will mean being involved in departmental meetings, requirement gathering, learning and understanding the direction of the sector, interpretation of ideas and proposing ideas of your own based on business requirements. The current technical stack is built with PHP & Javascript served on an AWS configuration. They would expect a good understanding in all these areas to enable the hiring, direction and mentoring of the development team.
The CTO will also be expected to contribute towards the Commercial strategy. Whilst the core responsibilities of the role will be more on the technical side, any experience from previous positions where your direct input or ideas you have had from a commercial aspect will be highly advantageous.
The ideal CTO will have :
- 5-7 years as a CTO or Senior Technical Leader
- Developer experience for at least 4 years
- Agile/Scrum
- AWS
- PHP
- Javascript
