Due to the successful growth and expansion, an experienced Control Room Technician is required to join this reputable company, working in the independent automotive aftermarket. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team which will support the setup of the new 215,000 sq. ft. Distribution Centre, employing state of the art automated storage and retrieval systems. Working as part of a small team, the Control Room Team Technician is responsible for ensuring that the product flow and systems are optimised throughout the site in order to achieve site and departmental targets.

The role:
- Requirement to operate a number of different systems/tools in order to efficiently monitor, identify and communicate systemic/mechanical performance to internal and external teams.
- Ensuring that the Management team are fully aware of current status for equipment, system and site performance.
- Producing regular activity reports as required.
- Perform system maintenance tasks to ensure data is accurate at all times.
- Manage daily customer orders through to ensure all possible required product is systemically available for pick/despatch.
- Performing system “end of day” tasks to ensure WMS does not have unnecessary or invalid data at the end of the shift.
- Manage user rights/permissions and user groups within the WMS.
- Review system parameters and ensure these are always optimised to achieve the site daily KPI’s.
- Complete system investigations to ascertain system issue root causes and support in the optimisation of the WMS.
- Support in the creation and maintenance of up-to-date Control Room documentation (i.e. process flows, standard procedures, reports, etc.)
- Monitoring automation, assess system/productivity risks and trigger the site incident management when issues affecting systemic/mechanical availability occur.
- Monitoring of system interface to ensure systems working in parallel are exchanging the correct information at all times.

Skills and Experience:
- The successful candidate will be working within a highly automated site, therefore will be required to have a proactive approach with the ability to understand complex technical detail.
- Ability to analyse raw data and convert into meaningful management information.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement within the team.
- The ability to prioritise own workload to ensure that individual, departmental and site targets are achieved.
- Understanding and experience of Warehouse Control Systems and Warehouse Management Systems.
- Experience of working within a fast-paced Control Room/Technical environment in an automated site.
