Position overview
Fantastic opportunity to join a small but growing firm, with a strong team atmosphere. An opportunity to have close involvement in both client side and project delivery. The company is financially sound and a caring employer with a diverse team of excellent, motivated employees.

Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a Part 3 UK qualified architect. Interior architecture qualification may be considered. 3 years post-qualification experience.
- Must have strong experience in the commercial office sector, covering the following two aspects:
- Pure architecture per se, involving reviewing buildings holistically, looking for development opportunity, an understanding of planning law, familiarity with major structural / envelope interventions, adding extra floors etc. New build will have relevance, but must also have experience of retrofit of existing buildings.
- Interior fitout – applying to Cat A office spaces, coworking zones, receptions and other ancillary areas. They emphasise this must include contemporary cutting edge “edgy” design, including but not limited to styles such as “Shoreditch”, urban chic, pared back minimalist in the style of Derwent London. Practices listed below will give a pointer. Boring outdated corporate interior design is not of interest.
- Experience in a highly respected UK design practice would be beneficial, although relevant projects for lower profile practices are of interest. (The work of these practices is relevant, to name a few examples: Best example of retrofits - Buckley Gray Yeoman. Also AHMM, Stiff + Trevillion, RHE, Hut, Ben Adams, Orms, Tate Hindle. Lower profile examples: Cove Burgess, Silver + Co, DN-A Architects)

Skills
- Ability to demonstrate energy, motivation, take responsibility and deliver consistently
- Ability to take a lead role on projects and coordinate all aspects of a design proposal. Particularly the ability to take a loose verbal client brief, refine the brief intelligently, and generate creative concepts, within project objectives and constraints.
- A keen interest in global architecture and culture, but with the ability to reference and relate this to the project in hand to enhance the proposal.
- Expected to be proficient in relevant design programmes and able to learn new software as required. The company currently works with Autocad, but is looking to progress to Revit.

They are based just outside north London. Most of their client meetings are in the West End and the role would include travelling there frequently, as well as potentially to regional sites. They regularly sponsor industry events, are BCO members and the candidate would be encouraged to attend social / networking events.
