CIVIL AVIATION EDITOR

As part of an ongoing development programme, this company, Europe’s leading Publisher of specialist leisure magazines is seeking an Editor to head up its civil aviation titles, Airliner World and Airports of the World together with their associated digital assets.

THE JOB

The Civil Aviation Editor, reporting to the Group Editor – Aviation, will lead and inspire the civil aviation editorial offering in all formats to include the regular print magazines (Airliner World and Airports of the World), related Specials and Bookazines together with any associated digital platforms (including websites, newsletter/news service and social media, etc.) now and in the future which closely reflect the potential readership in order to develop and grow sales, readership and reach and to provide a good basis for advertising and other revenue-generating schemes. The role, which includes building, managing and motivating the civil aviation team, will be challenging and offers excellent prospects for the right candidate.

THE PERSON

They are looking for a talented individual with the ability to manage and motivate a small editorial team, as well as the flair to innovate. You will already be an experienced journalist or editor with previous experience in the editorial management of specialist consumer titles but candidates with a background in more general consumer publishing are also welcomed. Ideally the candidate should have a thorough working knowledge of and interest in civil aviation and be able to demonstrate previous editorial success in this sector.

Candidates without this background who can demonstrate excellent potential will be considered.

Based at their offices in Stamford, Lincolnshire, benefits include a competitive salary, 25 holiday days per year plus a company pension scheme.
