This company supplies containerised plants to the trade industry. They are currently recruiting for a Nursery Supervisor to join the team, based at their Brentry Nursery off Jermyns Lane in Ampfield.
As Nursery Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring correct quality standards for the lifting and preparing of plants/trees for customer orders.
- Managing the plant husbandry priorities on the nursery.
- Working with the Nursery Section Head to ensure the development of the Nursery team.
- Prioritise and action nursery maintenance and any other associated tasks.
- Ensure excellent customer service is delivered by all the team.
- Support the Nursery Section Head in ensuring all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience in containerised production horticulture.
- Experience in leading a small team.
- Self-motivation and drive.
- Possess a proactive personality in a demanding environment.
- Prepared to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Fork Lift Truck and Tractor driving experience would be an advantage however training will be provided.
- The work involves heavy lifting and can be physically demanding.
This role is for 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7:30 -16:00, Friday 7.30 - 15:00. You will also be required to work some overtime hours when necessary in peak periods, which can include weekends.
