Responsible for growing the UK Machine Vision Business: opportunity prospecting, selling, account management, and account development. The role covers the South of England but may require occasional work outside of the region.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for achieving sales budget through finding new business opportunities, and developing existing customer relationships to maximize business opportunities in traditional and new markets. This role will be home based, preferably in southern UK, with regular travel required throughout the South. There may be occasional travel required to Ireland and mainland Europe.

Responsibilities:

- Delivering sales budget
- Fully accountability for the accounts and their growth and sustainability
- Drive the sales of Vision Solutions to other pharma, medical devices and new markets/industries
- Maintain excellent records on all customer activity
- Undertake account management of sold projects
- Provide training and support if required for sales executives selling Vision across our group of companies.
- Manage the sales process for new initiatives within the existing Vision customer base, under direction of Sales Manager.

Requirements:

- A result driven, self-motivated, ambitious sales professional
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to targeting and winning new business.
- Demonstrate high level of strategic and operational planning and process management.
- Accurately convey customer requirements to Sales Engineering thereby delivering best fit and accurately priced solutions
- Proven track record of successful account management and sales budget delivery
- Minimum 3 years’ experience selling within a B2B environment
- Evidence of a structured and consultative sales process
- Experience within the pharmaceutical sector, preferably with knowledge of machine vision systems
- Exceptional networking and relationship building skills.
- A team player with excellent communication skills
- An ethical approach to conducting business internally and externally
- A problem solver with a positive “can-do” attitude
- Degree preferable
