An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic qualified vehicle technician who is keen to grow and develop with the company in the role of Workshop Technician.

Summary of Role
You will be responsible for ensuring the workshop operates efficiently and provides outstanding customer service. The work will require a high level of practical work on vehicles, as the daily needs require as well as managing the overall tidiness of the workshop and yard in conjunction with other team members.

A good knowledge of light commercial vehicles is essential, in particular Mercedes Sprinter and Renault traffic. A working knowledge of HGVs would also be desirable but not essential.

You will be responsible for repairing vehicles to a high standard and within a timely manner, having your own tools is essential.

You will require a driving licence to cover driving vehicles up to 7.5ton.

The role involves ensuring the timely progress of jobs through the workshop, controlling the usage of consumable materials, ensuring once jobs are completed all paperwork is submitted to the admin team, and guaranteeing all work carried out complies with retailer, manufacturer and industry health and safety guidelines.

You will be required to:
- Prepare vehicles for MOT – carrying out all necessary checks to ensure non-failure of vehicles
- Ensure the performance of workshop meets set KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and SLA (Service Level Agreements) targets
- Have experience of working within the motor vehicle industry
- Knowledge / experience of working in a team and on own initiative
- Have an understanding of Operators Licence Laws and Regulations
- Ensuring WIPs deadlines are met and carried out in a cost-effective manner.
- Adhering to company`s Health and Safety regulations to prevent accidents within the workplace
- Demonstrate proof of professional competence
- Produce certification of training to City & Guilds standards or equivalent
