This is an opportunity to join a vibrant British Upholstery Manufacturer successfully producing Sofas and Chairs for the domestic market for nearly 30 years. With over 160 employees based in Kidderminster, they focus on all aspects of design, production and despatch.

Their production facility is based on one site which occupies 65,000 square feet. All their frames are made in their Timber Mill area and their Cutting and Sewing facility is staffed by skilled Cutters and Machinists who process more than 400,000 metres of fabric per year. Their Upholstery process is staffed by skilled Upholsterers who ensure a quality finish to our product.

The Woodmill Operator is responsible for ensuring that wood is cut to size using the appropriate equipment and templates provided. Duties include:

- Reviewing job sheet and familiarize self with requirements
- Saw and cut wood using specialist equipment and techniques to ensure they meet the required size and length
- Monitor machine operation to detect problems and report these to the Supervisor.
- Set up and load wood onto machine efficiently
- Work to deadlines, ensuring safety at all times
- Start machines, adjust controls and make trial cuts to ensure that machinery is operating properly
- Monitor operation of machines and ensure adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications
- Adjust cutting devises and set controls to produce specified cuts or operations
- Feed stock through feed mechanisms, shaping to produce desired components

Previous experience of operating a woodmill or sheet metal machine would be a distinct advantage Experience of working with wood or within the construction industry would be preferred, however full training will be provided.
