This charity works with offenders and prisoners in Lincolnshire and the surrounding area. The main focus of their work is resettlement and rehabilitation support including employability; accommodation; finance and debt; and children and families and over 2,000 clients access services each year.

The National Offender Management Service (NOMS) has a core principle that women offenders require a bespoke service to respond to their needs in order to desist from offending. Women in the criminal justice system tend to have experienced much higher rates of childhood and adult trauma than women in the general population, and this is often associated with high risk behaviours such as substance misuse, sex work and mental health disorders. There is an emerging evidence base to show that women offenders respond better in women-only environments where they feel safe, where rehabilitation and self efficacy are core principles, and where services are sensitive to the contextual situation than can affect a women’s ability to engage. HLNY Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC) has therefore commissioned the charity to establish a women’s service for the Greater Lincolnshire area.

They are looking to recruit a Women’s Service Practitioner to join their new team in Greater Lincolnshire. The post holder will have autonomy in how she operates to meet the needs of the clients referred and the wider service, however the boundaries of the CRC and the criminal justice system will obviously need to be adhered to.

The post is part time for 22.5 hours per week. Ideally you will hold a minimum NVQ3 in Advice, or an NVQ4 in Guidance, or be willing to work towards this.

They operate a number of salary bands, and the starting point within a band is dependent on relevant skills and experience. For practitioners holding a relevant Level 3 qualification, the band commences at £18,067 (FTE); for applicants new to this area of work, they operate a trainee salary band which starts at £15,210, and for applicants who hold a relevant Level 4 qualification, the band starts at £21,512.

In addition, the charity offers a 6% employer pension scheme and a minimum of 33 days annual leave per year including statutory holidays, increasing to 38 days (pro rata for p/t posts), a salary sacrifice scheme for childcare vouchers and a health and wellbeing service. The Trust is committed to ongoing professional development of all their staff and encourages individuals to participate in relevant training and development.

The post will primarily cover North and North East Lincolnshire (Scunthorpe and Grimsby area).

It is an Occupational Requirement that applications for this post are open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.
