This is an opportunity to join an award winning UK textile innovator, independently owned, specialising in the design & manufacture of contract upholstery fabrics for commercial interiors and mass passenger transport. The company is based in the UK’s West Yorkshire textile heartland, with additional manufacturing in Lithuania and Nottingham, from where it extends global reach into some 80 countries worldwide via established offices, warehousing and distribution channels in Europe, North America, China and Australia. This company sells over 8 million metres of fabric a year for use in commercial offices, banks, government departments, universities, NHS, cinema, auditoria and transportation applications in buses, coaches, trains and underground.

Job Purpose:

To complete the current warehouse move between floors by moving the necessary fabric and tubes to a new location.

Maintain a high level of efficiency to ensure customer service and satisfaction. Ensure fabric rolls are relocated to the warehouse correctly and in a timely manner and also adhering to working practices for the smooth running of the warehouse function.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

- Ensure that fabric is correctly located and picked from warehouse locations, maintaining accuracy within the warehouse.
- Building the racks back up with the tubes, making sure that the tubes are drilled and cable tied down and that fabric rolls are put back into the tubes, maintaining accuracy within the warehouse.
- Confirm the product is loaded correctly into the tubes to ensure that the fabric rolls are then scanned correctly.
- Assist within the warehouse to make sure that all areas are clean and tidy.
- Ensure that the highest quality is maintained by monitoring the items that are being loaded back into the tubes.

Knowledge and aptitudes required:

- Previous warehousing experience and using bar code systems would be an advantage
- Experience of working in a busy environment
- Understanding and appreciation of Health and Safety practices in the workplace
- Experience of operating a forklift or picker truck is advantageous

- Self-motivated, with a flexible attitude to work

- Customer focused with good interpersonal skills
- Able to work under minimal supervision and within a team
- A ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to remain calm and work well under pressure
