They sell over 8 million metres of fabric a year for use in commercial offices, banks, government departments, universities, NHS, cinema, auditoria and transportation applications in buses, coaches, trains and underground.

They now have a great opportunity for a talented, ambitious Warehouse Operative to join the Warehouse Department at their Meltham site.

Purpose

To ensure fabric for customer orders is picked, processed and dispatched accurately and efficiently to maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction. To ensure fabric rolls are relocated to the warehouse correctly and timely adhering to working practices for smooth running of the warehouse function.

Responsibilities

- Ensure that fabric is correctly located and picked from warehouse locations, maintaining accuracy within the Warehouse and fulfilling customer orders.
- Operate the cutting tables making sure all fabric is processed and dealt with accurately and timely to maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Confirm the end product is loaded onto the correct pallet/stillage to ensure this is then dispatched to the correct customer and carrier.
- Assist within the loading bay to make sure that all incoming and outgoing products are correctly processed from all types of carriers.
- Ensure that the highest quality is maintained by monitoring the items that are being dispatched.

Education / Skills / Knowledge / Experience

- Previous warehousing experience and using bar code systems would be an advantage
- Previous experience of using AS400 or a similar system would be an advantage
- Experience of operating a forklift or picker truck would be an advantage
- Experience of working in a busy environment
- Understanding and appreciation of Health and Safety practices in the workplace
