This company is a global steel supplier looking to recruit an experienced warehouse operative for their Sheffield warehouse.
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the duties will include:
- Picking and packing stock products in accordance with written instructions (a forklift truck license is therefore highly desirable)
- Collecting material from local suppliers (using company-branded vehicles) and booking it onto their stock system following inspection
- Assisting with monthly stock checks
- Daily deliveries in the local area and occasionally nationally
- Maintaining all company vehicles in a clean and excellent working condition
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in the warehouse
- Other general warehouse and site maintenance duties as required
The successful candidate should:
- Have a full, clean driving license (please note this will be checked on the DVLA website this during the recruitment process)
- Have a minimum two years driving experience, in accordance with insurance requirements
- Be courteous with good communication skills and a professional manner
- Be physically fit and able to work under pressure
- Have a good knowledge of South Yorkshire
- Be IT literate
- Be flexible on working hours to suit delivery timetables
- Hold a counterbalance fork-lift truck license
- Ideally have experience working in the steel industry
