This expanding, family owned manufacturing company in Needham Market, with good transport links and bus service to Ipswich are seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operative.

They will ensure the proficient and safe use of the forklift in lifting and moving products, including, checking, and storing incoming goods and stock. Using automatic and manual packing machines, scales and printing devices, labelling and managing an inventory.

Main Responsibilities
- Adhere to the Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Check and inspect goods received and ensure the qualities are correct and the quality is acceptable in line with the company's quality standards and standard operating procedures
- Responsible for non-conformances on incoming goods and communicate with other departments
- Select space for storage and place goods in designated area
- Ensure all inventory processes are completed on the same day, where possible
- Loading and unloading lorries in a safe and timely manner, in line with the company's Heath & Safety policies, processes and procedures to math delivery note
- Moving and organising stock in the warehouse from receipt to dispatch to customers in advance of transport arrival time
- Accurately update all required information and data into the company's computer based system in line with departmental processes
- Supply lines in production with required components and bulk
- Change totes as required following following the company's Health & Safety guidelines
- Wrapping pallets and inputting data onto a pallet note for onward transportation and in line with the specification as and when required
- returning unused parts to the warehouse from the production department, in their correct location to maximise storage space
- Picking CPLs and allocating stock accurately
- Responsible for carrying out daily checks to ensure safety of material handling

General duties
- The removal of general waste from the production areas and keep the warehouse clean and a safe working environment for all warehouse staff
- Assistance and supporting the warehouse supervisor and team members as required
- Picking and collating orders for the customers when required
- Stock checks when required
- Mixing and blending products when required
- Ensuring tote cages and stands are always used correctly and kept clean to minimise cross contamination
- Movement of pallets via the company van, ensuring that the goods are securely strapped in whilst adhering to the company driving policy

Person specification
- Current forklift counterbalance licence
- Driving licence
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
- Knowledge of supply chain management
- Excellent numeracy & literacy skills
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Strong problem solving skills
- Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures in a warehouse environment
- A real team player with a flexible attitude
- Used to meeting tight deadlines
- Self motivated, reliable and dependable
