This is an opportunity to join a vibrant British Upholstery Manufacturer successfully producing Sofas and Chairs for the domestic market for nearly 30 years. With over 160 employees based in Kidderminster, they focus on all aspects of design, production and despatch.

Their production facility is based on one site which occupies 65,000 square feet. All their frames are made in their Timber Mill area and their Cutting and Sewing facility is staffed by skilled Cutters and Machinists who process more than 400,000 metres of fabric per year. Their Upholstery process is staffed by skilled Upholsterers who ensure a quality finish to their product.

The Upholstery Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of upholsterers to provide the best quality standards in order to ensure their products are second to none.

Supervising a number of tracks, this is a hands on role where you will be responsible for ensuring that the team works together effectively ensuring errors are reduced and timelines are met in order to meet customer deadlines.

Main duties:
- Monitor Upholsterers performance to ensure that quality standards are maintained at all times
- Ensure that Upholsterer cover is available for any gaps or shortfalls in resource
- Provide regular feedback to Upholsterers on their performance and improvements that need to be made
- Train all new starters and ensure that that they have information available to them in order to succeed in their role
- Monitor Health and Safety, completing risk assessments, incident report and enforcing Health and Safety rules
- Monitor and control quality efficiency throughput of Upholsterers work, keeping in mind operational costs and quality.
- Use technical knowledge to ensure support is provided to Upholsterers and issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
- Attend meetings with the Factory Manager and provide updates on team performance

Previous experience of the Furniture/Upholstery Industry or similar would be a distinct advantage along with at least 2 years supervisory experience This is a time sensitive environment, so the ability to work at a fast pace is essential along with good hand/eye co-ordination and attention to detail.

You will be a strong team player, always looking for ways to help an encourage other team members. You will be a good communicator both verbal and written.
