Truss and Joist Estimator, Castleford

This company is a leading designer and manufacturer of engineered timber products. Operating from eight sites around the UK, its Timber Engineering business designs and manufactures Roof Trusses and Engineered Floors.

Role
They are looking for a Truss and Joist Estimator to join their team based in Castleford. The role offers a great opportunity for someone with estimating experience to ensure detailed and accurate quotations and designs are produced for CTE products and meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities
These include (but are not exhaustive):
- Interpret customer requirements and prepare appropriate quotations within the timeframes provided by the Senior Estimator/Estimating Co-Ordinator, ensuring target margins are achieved and contractual obligations are fulfilled (quotation qualifications etc.)
- Where appropriate, ensure company risk management policy is followed at all times.
- Ensure the company authority matrix is adhered too
- Liaise with customers and provide a knowledgeable service both in the office and on-site visits
- Attend customer/site meetings as required, ensuring the company dress code is adhered to (including PPE requirements)
- Provide site measures as required
- Provide any technical details that may be necessary, including preliminary designs
- Generate enquiries from new and existing customers, follow up quotations and obtain profitable orders on behalf of the company
- Liaise with relevant internal staff/production teams etc. to ensure quotations take in consideration costs, targets and manufacturing capacity & capability
- Liaise with Sales Representative and follows up quotes when and if require

Attributes
Essential

- Previous experience of working in a similar role, using Mitek or other timber engineering software
- Good Communication and customer service skills
- Strong I.T skills including good knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc and reviewing/managing digital drawing files
- Results Orientated
- Well-organised and systematic – able to “get it right first time”, works accurately and pays close attention to detail
- Driving license preferred

Hours of Work
