An ethical, fast-growing recycling and resource management company with a team of exceptional people, their Operations team, are at the heart of their business and they are looking for second route planner to support business growth. With significant investment being made at our Operations base in the next two years, this is a great opportunity to join them during an exciting period of change and growth, helping us ensure operational success.

As the Route Planner you will be based at their transport depot in Purfleet and report to the Transport Manager. You will be in charge of scheduling recycling and waste collections, in a way that maximises productivity and profitability, and ensures an operational success rate of over 97%.

The role will see you having to balance customer satisfaction with operational resources; you need to be a logical thinker. Are you up for the challenge?

Key Responsibilities:

- Creating daily routes for drivers, ensuring a success rate of over 97%.
- Monitor forward workload and balance collections with staff and vehicle availability.
- Keep in touch with drivers throughout your shift, dealing with problems and re-allocating jobs.
- Liaise with sales and account managers to agree new client requirements.
- Maintain an open and good working relationship with the client services team, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Analyse data to be able to assess the profitability of each route.
- Maintain a good relationship with all drivers.

You will work alternate weeks on early shift (05:00 to 14:00) and then late shift (12:30 to 22:00). In addition, you will need to work one weekend shift at least every fourth weekend. In addition to this, you will be required to work 2 – 3 Bank Holidays in the year.

The Person

As the Route Planner you must have;

- 3 years’ experience in route planning
- Good knowledge of London.
- Ability to remain calm and upbeat under pressure.
- Confidence to be assertive with drivers when required.
- Organised and good attention to detail.

Waste industry experience would be an advantage
