A leading Cleaning and Catering distributor is looking to recruit a hardworking, highly motivated Transport Manager to join the Operations Team. The position in this well-established, growing company offers an exciting full time career for somebody looking to develop their skills in transport management and help shape an efficient department.

Job Description
Working in a fast paced environment, you’ll be hands on, controlling the day to day running of the outbound transport and distribution functions. Reporting to the Operations Manager your key role will be to optimise the company’s deliveries and fleet of vans, planning for the anticipated growth and amending processes to be as efficient as possible, utilising route management planning software.
Job Responsibilities:

- Plan, organise and manager operations such as dispatching, routing and tracking of delivery vehicles to meet business and customer requirements
- Promote compliance with transport policies, procedures and legislation
- Ensure vehicle maintenance schedules are met and records kept up to date
-Maintain all Operating Licence standards and audits with the Operations Manager
- Manage and resolve internal queries efficiently and courteously
- Sustain a culture of honesty and service to uphold the company’s reputation for excellence
- Work to the highest safety standards to protect the team and customers

Specifications:-
- IT literate
- Experience of managing a busy multi-drop transport department
- Confidence using budgets and financial control to make management decisions
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to solve problems and prioritise own workload and that of the team
- Whilst not essential it would be desirable to hold a Transport Manager CPC licence

The ideal Transport Manager will have the initiative to drive progress in branches, demonstrating good organisation and planning skills. Drive and enthusiasm are essential for this role.
