This company is a long established, independent family-owned business offering excellent quality and service in Skip Hire, Plant Hire, Trade and DIY Shops, Demolition, Trade Waste Collections, Road Sweeping and Agricultural Contracting.

Responsibilities:
- To ensure that the performance of drivers/loaders is effectively managed ensuring the underperformance is managed and excellence is recognised:
- To conduct return to work interviews and assess driver suitability
- To ensure drivers/loaders are crossed trained on transport modes / route for contingency cover:
- To manage holiday Schedules
- To assist in recruitment of driver/loader positions
- To prepare daily work to achieve maximum efficiency of traffic flows for drivers and deliver work instructions
- To accommodate additional customer orders and plan work efficiently
- To escalate vehicle issues with the relevant parties and allocate spare vehicles as appropriate
- To liaise with the Driver Supervisor to ensure that the morning out brief process has been completed and all vehicles have departed on time with daily workload – dealing with contingency process for absence, distribution of keys, PDA’s and vehicle breakdowns
- To liaise with Driver Supervisor that the drivers debrief on their return has all relevant information
- To ensure activities within operations are carried out with the highest regard to Health and Safety and Wellbeing of all employees, customers and members of the public in accordance with legal, environmental and company policies
- To answer the telephone and handle internal and external communications courteously and efficiently, resolving customer orders, complaints and queries effectively.
- To promote customer service focus in the drivers approach to their work
- To manage contamination in a positive and informative manner

Person Specification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess excellent organisational skills, meeting deadlines, plan and prioritise workloads.
- A high level of accuracy is essential, seeking clarity when required and taking responsibility for own work. Analyse information correctly and independently (where possible) resolve problems effectively.
- Have a good knowledge of MS Software, Weighsoft and tracking systems.
- Must be a good team player or work well under own initiative.
- Demonstrate understanding and works to exceed customer expectations.
- Accountable for results and long term business objectives.
- Must possess excellent negotiation skills and be effective at managing relationships at all levels.
