For the right person, they will offer a structured, ongoing training programme to assist them in becoming a Purchaser within their Foodservice division. The position will enable that person to eventually take full responsibility of the purchasing and stock control of a selection of their chilled, ambient, frozen and non-food lines within a multi drop environment. The successful candidate will learn about the importance of stock control in an extremely fluid business, supply chain management, seasonal peaks and troughs and the importance of building strong working relationships with their suppliers and internal customers.
Based at their head office in Ilfracombe, they are looking for someone to join their well established and friendly team and although the position is office based, there will be opportunities to visit their other depots in Barnstaple, Oxford and the Midlands and also to meet suppliers and colleagues at supplier presentations, National Sales Meetings and trade events and their own exhibitions
The person they are looking for will have a pro-active and ‘can do’ attitude along with a hunger to learn and achieve. They’ll have an eye for detail, a good understanding of Microsoft systems, and be willing to learn how to juggle many plates. In return they will offer a starting salary of £16k to be reviewed at 6 monthly intervals to a maximum of £17,500 on completion of training, inclusion in the company pension scheme, staff discounts on all purchases, death in service benefit, an office with a sea view and the opportunity to join one of the most well established yet progressive businesses in the area.
