This leading supplier of corporate branding and products to the promotional gift trade is looking for a trainee printer to add to their existing production team to learn all aspects of screen and pad printing.

You will have the opportunity to work with a range of different printing equipment and produce varied work for a diverse and interesting client base.

Previous experience working with machinery or in a production environment would be advantageous, however full training will be provided.

Specific Job Skills:

Experience of working in a production environment, or an interest in the print industry would be advantageous, however full training will be provided. Ability to quickly learn new systems and adhere to the company’s processes to ensure a consistent way of working across the team. You will have exceptional attention to detail with the ability to learn and retain a high volume of information.

Computer skills:
- Must be adept in the use of MS Office 2010 or later. Training in our bespoke order system will be given.
Literacy and Numeracy:
- Must be numerate and literate with qualifications to GCSE level
- Ability to work within a production environment
- It is essential to have a ‘can-do’ attitude and work with the production team to learn the products, processes and systems within the company.

Job Objectives:

- To brand a range of products using various print processes
- Ensure all products are printed on time and in line with company quality standards
- Ensure all machinery is maintained and operated in line with company’s health and safety policies
- Provide first class customer service at all times

Responsibilities and main activities:

- Making of screens and plates for the relevant machinery
- Checking work sheets for specific instructions
- Quality checking products and reporting any faults or discrepancies
- Quality checking all branding
- Setting up machinery prior to print
- Checking print instructions and customer instructions
- Printing various products via screen and pad printing
- Ensure timesheets are completed at all times
- Ink mixing and colour matching
- Ensure correct ink types and solvents are used for relevant substrates
- Reporting any issues regarding product, print or machinery to line manager
- Maintenance and general house keeping
- Carrying out any other tasks as required

Performance:
- Print orders within agreed timescales
- Maintain accurate on time sheets and job sheets
