Trainee Building Surveyor
Scale G4 – (£18,618 - £20,541)
Full time – 35 hours per week
Permanent role

They are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and customer focussed individual to join the Surveying team at their Hendham Vale office.

This is a great opportunity for an individual wanting to gain hands-on experience to complement and build on their school / college or apprenticeship experience with a further opportunity to study whilst in our employment. The main purpose of the role would be to assist in the provision of a range of Building Inspection services in relation to the maintenance of housing stock, including ensuring that such works are carried out in accordance with procedure and specification.

As important is the ability to deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively, at all levels to ensure all standards are met.

To be considered, the ideal candidate will have either recently qualified to BTEC Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment or gained 2 A Levels (minimum grades B&C or above) with one in a relevant subject. As a trainee position, proof of grades pending will be accepted.

Applicants with relevant work experience and trade qualifications in the building industry are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be offered support over the next 2 years to gain HNC and when qualified will have the opportunity to progress to the role of Building Surveyor.

In addition, you will possess excellent IT skills, be able to organise and prioritise to work to meet deadlines and targets. With an eye for detail, to deliver accurate information as you will be preparing and interpreting specifications and schedules of work utilising a prepaid schedule of rates. You will keep up to date with current legislation and statutory requirements ensuring these are adhered to at all times.

Ideally you will have a full driving licence, use of a car for business and a willingness to work within any area of the business.
