This is a leading UK based, vehicle tracking, security and fleet management company operating both nationally and internationally, based in Southend on Sea. They offer a wide range advanced GPS tracking and security solutions for vehicles and machinery in the construction, agricultural, waste management, transport and logistics industries.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will increase sales against agreed unit and revenue targets via new and existing customers. Working alongside Operational/Technical teams, you will maintain existing business relationships and create new opportunities by identifying new markets

Location: Ideally based in the Reading area, covering counties south of Birmingham. Periodic report and attendance at Head Office is also required
Remuneration: includes competitive commission/bonus scheme and company car.

Pension: Company scheme with The People’s Pension
Holidays: 20 days per annum personal entitlement plus 8 days public/bank holidays

Sickness Absence: 5 days full pay per employment year after one year service of one year of employment
Hours of Work: 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday

Education/Qualifications
A good broad education, able to demonstrate CPD within a Sales discipline. Relevant, vocational qualifications would be an advantage

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The role requires a proven record of experience within a similar role. The key abilities required for this role are:

- Proven experience in a field Sales role
- Working in an IT/technical environment
- Strong Analytical/numerical skills
- Strong customer focus to build business relationships
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent IT skills and Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent organisational skills with a methodical and logical approach
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Confident, proactive and drive to deliver against organisational goals
- Must hold a valid full UK Driving Licence

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Engage a variety of sales techniques to build the business within the allocated territory
- Target potential customers, implementing cold calling techniques when appropriate
- Arrange meetings with potential customers looking to secure sales
- Identify target companies and network to build relationships
- Analyse competitor activities, identify and act on opportunities for business development
- Work to set revenue and unit targets
- Attend industry events and conferences to build relationships and business
- Follow up on sales leads passed on by others
- Work closely with Territory Sales Manager and National Account Manager
- Keep abreast of industry news, report new business opportunities to the National Sales Manager
- Report and log any system issues/bugs and system enhancement requests procedures.
