They have a vacancy for a technician to work in their Furniture and Floorcoverings business area.
As a technician you will be responsible for testing floorcoverings and furniture against British and European standards. You will be also be involved in writing reports, booking in samples for testing, planning and agreeing testing schedules. The role will involve communicating with customers by telephone and email, ensuring that they provide the highest level of customer service.
Candidates should have at least 5 GCSEs, including Maths, English and Science. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the testing of different types of consumer products. Good communication skills are essential, as are practical computer skills. The appointed technician will be expected to work to deadlines, produce accurate, detailed test reports and work independently when required. Experience of working within a regulated laboratory environment would be an advantage.
Flexibility, tenacity and a ‘can-do attitude’ are key requisites of the role. Within the guidelines of the flexible working system, candidates should be able and willing to work their contracted hours between the hours of 7am and 7pm if required.
