A Technical Writer is required to support the Head of QHSE & the Business Streams in the development and communication process required throughout the business, you will also take a user-centred approach to ensuring complicated technical concepts are both implemented that are understood at all levels.

To drive the development of the Company’s Business Quality Management System (BQMS) as well as developing standardisation of business processes throughout the Company, by reviewing, developing and implementing a robust methodology throughout the Company.

This will require working alongside various specialist engineering teams internally that create bespoke heavy engineering concept designs & ground-breaking products that are changing the offshore marine & renewables world.

Responsible for the following categories of work as directed, to:
- Produce, develop, implement, write & edit clear and concise operational instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals and\or documentation for any media format
- Develop with the support of the Business Stream Directors & Functional Managers all internal documentation requirements such as user manuals, company procedures, handbooks, release notes, help text, FAQs pages etc.
- Communicate complex information in an informative & inspiring way
- Assist with the standardisation of business processes across the various business streams, maintaining the company brand style
- Review technical information prepared by other staff members for its clarity and content
- Take an active role in the definition & evolution of standard practices and procedures
- Maintain a high standard of record-keeping & documentation so that information is clearly captured, disseminated & reported
- Publish & update documents to the various media forms used in the Company (SharePoint, Vault)
- Gather & record feedback from end users, revising documents as & when required.
- Be committed to producing high-quality work
- Comply with BQMS & QHSE procedures & provide feedback for improvement
- Visit the various offices: Aberdeen, London & Portsmouth

Background and Qualifications
- Of graduate or diploma calibre, or qualified by experience, in a relevant QHSE team or within a technical writing discipline, ideally in an engineering environment
- Has prior technical writing experience – communicating complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner for a diverse technical audience
- Is an excellent verbal and written communicator, with impeccable grammar and spelling skills
- Can assimilate knowledge quickly, researching products, services and technology to be documented
- Detail oriented, quick to learn, confident and adaptable
- Will be a self-starter, able to work with minimal
- Have a high level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ideally will be able to use SharePoint
- Is familiar with and is able to absorb new technologies and systems
