This company is the independent student complaints scheme for England and Wales. They review unresolved complaints from students about their higher education provider and make Recommendations for providers to put things right if they have gone wrong. They share learning from complaints to help improve policies and practices across the higher education sector.

They are a team of highly skilled professionals operating the ombuds service for student complaints in higher education. If you enjoy being on the front line, involved with a variety of tasks, problem solving and assisting colleagues with technical issues, they would like to hear from you.

The role

This is a new role in their organisation and they are looking for a dynamic technically minded individual to fulfil it.

As Technical Support, you will work under the guidance of the IT Infrastructure Lead to enable technology to effectively support their organisation’s goals and objectives. The role is varied and will include the administration of their Local Area Network and off-site private Data Centre as they begin their migration to Azure.

You will provide day to day resolution of hardware and software issues for users in the office, off-site or at home. This includes providing fixes and tweaks to their single devices

To succeed, you will have a proven track record in providing:

1. System Knowledge and Training – this will include producing written guidance for colleagues, hints and tips on best practice and hands on training and support as required.
- You will keep their IT Champions up to date with occasional changes and will demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to colleagues in non-technical roles.

2. Hardware and software Support – involving on site and remote hardware and software support to colleagues experiencing IT issues.
- Accurate record keeping and logging of equipment using their Dynamics CRM database.
- Administration of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Office 365, File and Print Services. With some involvement with WSUS, Group Policy, and Exchange Online.
