The role offers a great opportunity to be able to build a career and comes with the opportunity to progress from Technical Sales Engineer to Contracts Manager.

About the role

Typically covering the main Scottish industrial regions, you will be required to build relationships with the businesses existing key clients and develop new business from their target market which are typically factories , manufacturing sites, mechanical/electrical contractors and other businesses involving the moving and installation of heavy equipment.

Some national & international travel could be required from time to time to support other regions or to secure business for the group.

The company would put you through a structured training program eventually allowing you to assess, price and run projects which typically involve the movement or installation of plant, machinery or equipment with a large emphasis around lifting/handling but sometimes with a mechanical or electrical element also required (internal or external assistance available where necessary)

Main Duties
- Account manage the branches existing client base to retain/increase spend in both the immediate region and throughout the UK
- Develop new business using business intelligence
- Assist where required with the operational running of the branch where required during holidays and busy periods
- Attend site inspections, working sites, projects etc to learn how to become a Contracts Manager who can assess , price and plan jobs for clients

Following suitable training & experience

- Attend client sites and assess the labor, plant & materials requirements
- Populate job costing sheets using established processes
- Issue client quotations and negotiate orders
- Write risk assessments & method statements for ongoing works
- Provide project updates to customers
- Record information on internal management systems
- Help to develop offerings, proposals, customer and project information.
- Ensure that all offers are compliant with relevant legislation

About You

Apply if you have relevant experience of any of the following:

- Mechanical or electrical installation
- Lifting & handling
- Plant & equipment movement or transportation
- Engineering site management / supervision
- Rigging, mechanical or electrical supervision
- Manufacturing or production engineering management involving the movement of internal assets
- Sales of industrial related products or services

A full driving license is required.
