A multi-award-winning textile manufacturer, we design and manufacture beautifully woven, environmentally sensitive fabrics for the commercial, residential and transportation sectors.

You will design and develop new digital print designs for our core and custom-made portfolio across multiple market segments that are in line with market, customer, aesthetic, and environmental requirements. This is a hands on role, requiring separating, repeating and managing the conversion of images to a format that is printable and whereby individual colour alterations can be undertaken.

Please note this role is at our Meltham site.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

Design, Print Management & Interpretation
- Design and develop new digital prints across multiple market segments ensuring the business meets the ever-changing demands
- Responsible for designing prints (customer artwork/original artwork) into repeats as final artwork, including editing, colour separation, recolouring and matching colour
- Support the New Product Introduction process, ensuring new printed products are developed and tested
- Support and contribute to the development of the creative vision and direction by providing the relevant digital print expertise and insight
- Demonstrate a ‘one team’ approach through collaborative working, engaging with internal customers ensuring effective communication, feedback and follow up
- Deliver high housekeeping duties and update records of departmental information

Research, Trend Insight & Understanding the Customer
- Provide support by researching current print trends
- Show an understanding of the global textile market and make informed contributions that drive new product proposals
- Research and present printed trend directions to the design team, customers and external collaborators
- Work collaboratively with the Innovation and Technical functions to translate high concept ideas into commercially viable printed products
- Produce physical mood boards/digital presentations

Knowledge & Competency Profile
- Printed Textiles Design related degree or equivalent
- Experience in Print Management software, PowerPoint & Microsoft packages
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite, Nedgraphics, Print
- Knowledge and ability to CAD up print repeats as final artwork, edit, colour separate, recolour and match colour
- Creative flair for design & colour with excellent technical print textile knowledge
- Drawing and hand painted skills are advantageous
- Excellent conceptual skills to work up ideas and be energetic about presenting ideas and concepts
- Proven ability to demonstrate new technical solutions and creativity, whilst assessing its commerciality
- Skilled at working with cross-functional teams, project management and product development, often managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Full Driving Licence
