Purpose

Continually strive for customer excellence and support our vision by providing technical support to the Technical Development team to ensure all developed products are robust, fit for purpose and meet the necessary performance specifications, environmental aspects, aesthetics and costs.

Please note this role is at our Meltham site.

Responsibilities:
- Assists and support Senior Technical Developers in developing robust products through the NPI process ensuring products are developed within scope, within budget and to strict critical path timelines
- Support NPI activities to ensure customers’ expectations are met in full and on time
- Provide appropriate support and assistance to the design and development team in their product development
- Advise internal customers on technical product performance enquiries
- Maintain awareness of project, scope, schedule and costs, collating information as required
- Provide project technical information to Senior Technical Developers to support Stakeholder reviews
- Under the direction of the Senior Technical developers, order fabrics for testing and sampling
- Liaise with counterparts in manufacturing, strategic supply chain and external suppliers to progress material through the trial and verification processes
- Support the Senior Technical Developers in brainstorming production and process risks taking specific actions where required in mitigate identified risks
- Review technical lengths via testing and inspection ensuring all findings are well reported and documentation is maintained
- Maintain product technical, manufacturing and finishing specifications within the business auditing their accuracy and highlighting any anomalies
- Support product handovers and the wider business with information on new products
- Develop awareness and understanding of legislative requirements that impact on fabric performance
- Support the improvement of quality by participating in and contributing to A3 projects pertaining to Legacy / Quality issues
- Contribute effectively to continuous improvement activity in NPI through active participation
- Demonstrate a ‘one team’ approach

Education / Skills / Knowledge / Experience:
- Strong GCSE or A-level (or equivalent) standard including Maths, English and a Science subject
- Some textiles knowledge (preferred)
- Some previous work experience (preferred)
- Analytical approach with good attention to detail
- Ability to manage own workload
- Initiative
- Hands on approach to work
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent colour acuity
