This company based in Birmingham offers a range of engine cooling systems, heating and air conditioning systems and fluid reservoirs.

They are the market leader for engine cooling and HVAC systems for the bus and coach market, supplying product globally to all corners of the world. From a simple radiator design through to a complete cooling module with radiator/ charge air cooler and the option of viscous, hydraulic and electric fan drives, they can provide the complete 3D design, prototype test and production supply.

This company are looking for a Technical Author or Creative Engineer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of their products. You will work collaboratively with developers, engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make their products easier to use.

The role involves producing manuals, training materials, articles and other technical documentation, including operating instructions for their engineers, technical specifications, catalogues and supporting documentation for sales managers and customers.
You will need a good understanding of 3D Solid Works software, have experience in mechanical engineering/ product design and have proven record of delivering technical documentation.

Technical authors are also known as information designers/developers, technical writers and technical communicators. They also welcome applications from a Junior Engineer type person with some experience in Product Design.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Background in a mechanical engineering/ automotive or product design
- Solid Works CAD knowledge and experience
- Sound knowledge of drawing principles
- Computer literate, good standard in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point
- Basic heat transfer and electrical knowledge
- Basic understanding of design a bonus
- Ability to demonstrate competence in producing technical documentation
- Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentations
- Excellent written skills in English

- Driver’s license essential – must be prepared for occasional travel

WORKING HOURS
08.00-17.00 Monday to Thursday / 08.00-15.00 Friday / Some flexibility required

WORK LOCATION
Based from Tyseley, Birmingham, the position will require a limited amount of travel.
