This well-resourced leading food manufacturing company are looking for an experienced food Technical Manager to join the senior management team and help to drive the business forward.

Role
- To provide leadership to the department to deliver the technical vision, driving behaviour and culture change through focus on people, processes, plant, product and communication.
- To collaborate with the site management team to ensure the site is compliant with the requirements and implications of legislation, company and customer ‘codes of practice’ and Good Manufacturing Practice Standards.
- To collaborate with our customers’ technical teams to ensure their requirements are exceeded.
- To develop and implement the site food safety plan (HACCP) to deliver continuous improvement by the analysis of non-conformance. Develop and manage the quality management systems, analytical processes and the internal audit programme efficiently and cost effectively, ensuring root cause analysis is carried out and remedial actions are implemented.
- To manage the technical team and budgets to deliver an appropriate, effective analytical programme and investigative analysis process.
- Accountable for ensuring technical and quality best practice is shared across the site to promote a continuous learning approach to our manufacturing processes.
- Accountable for and directly manage all technical audits by customers, third parties and regulatory authorities.
- To develop and lead key continuous improvement programmes for the site e.g. complaints reduction programme, through the identification of critical areas for improvement, complaints analysis, consumer/customer feedback and shared best practice from other sites. Includes delivery & reporting of factory trials.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum five years’ experience in technical management with knowledge and understanding of quality systems and quality management.
- Experience of implementing and delivering a clear technical & quality strategy in a manufacturing business.
- Excellent communicator with strong influencing skills, who can deliver a compelling vision for technical and quality at all levels internally and externally.
- Demonstrate a strong moral compass in day to day dealings within a business environment.
- Demonstrable track record of working with multiple retailers and complex stakeholder engagement.

Remuneration:
- In addition to basic salary of £40-45k, benefits include a car allowance, bonus and pension.
