Team Leader

This is a beautiful new residential home situated in West Heath, Birmingham which support people with severe learning disabilities, and the complex restrictive and challenging behaviours often associated with autism.

If you have got experience gained in a senior support role and want to take the next step, this is an excellent opportunity to join their new team, where we work together to put the needs of the people they support first and enhance their quality of life.

Leading a team of Support Workers and supporting the Management team, you will be key to enabling the people we support to enjoy the best possible quality of life, from helping with daily living and personal care to getting out and about to the shops and activities of their choice. That includes helping them make choices and decisions, live each day to the fullest and develop life skills along the way.

Of course, there will sometimes be challenges but they will give you full training and support to ensure you can deal with these confidently and capably. They use modern positive behaviour support approaches based within PROACT-SCIPr-UK® and MAPA. This is embedded in everything that they do, from your induction to your on-going training.

In addition to fulfilling all the duties of a Support Worker to the very highest of standards, other key responsibilities will include supervising, guiding and supporting the team, supporting new starters and ensuring the home is properly staffed.

With experience gained in a support role in a similar setting, ideally, you will also have supervisory experience, but more important is an eagerness and aptitude to learn more and develop professionally. A QCF Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care is essential to the role. A QCF Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care is an advantage, however we can support you to achieve this.
