This is an opportunity to join an established yet rapidly expanding retailer and manufacturer of Print. On the back of the revolution they have been growing at a phenomenal rate for the past 4 years and have recently made it onto the Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list. Fuelled by this growth, and their future plans for expansion, they are now recruiting for a Team Leader for their Large Format Finishing Team. The team is located just 10 minutes from junction 36 of the M1 near Wath Upon Dearne in South Yorkshire.

The Role
You will be working at the centre of their lively and fast paced Large Format Finishing Team who are responsible for finishing and dispatching printed items to the high quality company standard. It will be your role to assist in the smooth running of the department and within the agreed department timescales.

You may have previous print finishing experience, although this is not essential. The work will be fast paced and non-stop with heavy lifting being an intrinsic part of the role. The hourly rate for this role is £9.90. The role is based on a rotating shift pattern of 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm and 10pm to 6am.

The essential functions of this role include but are not limited to;

- ensuring all the departments jobs are finished to standard and to deadline.
- liaising with other departments to ensure that the department is working to optimum levels.
- being responsible for all activities within the department (e.g. staff, machinery, stock, equipment).
- monitoring and reporting on equipment and operator performance.
- checking the quality of finished jobs to ensure that quality levels are maintained and consistent.
- attending meetings as required to provide information and feedback on the department.
- training of new and existing staff as required
- ensuring all waste is disposed of in line with the Companies recycling policies.
- ensuring all finishing equipment is maintained in accordance with company policy.

Essential Skills and Abilities

- Ability to lead a team with a positive attitude.
- Ability to multitask in a high pressure working environment.
- Numeracy, P.C. and literacy skills are essential.
- Manual dexterity
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake on the job training.
- Strong communication skills.
- Organisational skills and high standards of housekeeping.
- Willing to work in a flexible manner as required.

Desirable Skills and Abilities

- Related Academic or Professional qualifications would be desirable but are not essential.
- It would be desirable but not essential if you had an awareness of COSHH, 1S09001, 1S014001, FSC and PEFC and/or waste segregation and disposal.
