Grade H2, SCP11 to 14: Pro rata salary £11,255.40 to £11,926.36 per annum inclusive of Fringe Allowance

This academy seeks a Teaching Assistant to work with students with special educational needs. The candidate must have good literacy and numeracy skills, hold an NVQ for Teaching Assistants or have an equivalent qualification and experience of supporting students with SEN in an educational setting.

The successful candidates will join the happy and committed staff of 130 as the academy grows to 1350 students, catering for high levels of parental demand and reflecting the high aspirations shared by all. This position would suit those who believe that anyone can excel and that everyone deserves the best.

The academy is 20 minutes by train from London Euston and enjoys a leafy setting close to the urban environment of Watford. It has a strong vision and ethos which has led to a rapid expansion in student numbers and impressive examination results. They have a positive reputation in the local area, benefit from strong parental support, are heavily oversubscribed and moved into our double award winning £30 million new building in January 2013. In December 2013 Ofsted judged The academy to be ‘Good’ in every category, while the Education Business Awards recognised them as an ‘Outstanding Academy’. They are a case study with the Department for Education twice over, and have been recognised for their good practice by both the Office of the Schools Commissioner and the Local Authority. They are consistently in the top 20% of schools nationally for pupil progress and, most importantly, students and staff at the academy share a commitment to its success and are “Proud to belong”.

The academy has an active wellbeing committee, and was reaccredited in 2017 with the Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Award. Assistance will be provided in finding suitable accommodation and there is a strong support network in place.
