As the national agency for contemporary craft, their purpose is to harness & amplify the power of craft by cultivating new audiences, promoting new making & inspiring new makers.

This role works closely with two other Talent Development Managers & a Coordinator. The Talent Development Manager also works closely with all members of the L&TD team, colleagues in other teams across the organisation (communications, exhibitions, development & enterprise), delivery partners, trainers, mentors & others across the country to ensure high quality delivery of their programme to a diverse audience.

This is a part-time post of 3 days per week

Objectives

Manage effective, high-quality delivery of their Talent Development initiatives:
- Bite size Workshop Programme (including their international showcase continuing professional development)
- Hothouse programme for emerging makers
- New programme for established makers (launching 2017)
- Contribute to design & development of future learning & talent development initiatives.
- Build & cultivate productive, collaborative relationships with cultural, business & education partners.

Main Duties
- Develop, deliver & manage their Talent Development initiatives, with responsibility for programme planning, budget management, contracting & managing external trainers & facilitators, recruitment of makers onto schemes, managing events, & liaising with project partners.
- Effectively deliver the Workshop programme, Hothouse & new programme for established makers across all regional cohorts.
- Build strong relationships with educational, cultural & business organisations to collaborate on delivery of their Talent Development initiatives & to develop support networks for makers.
- Act as point of contact for makers taking part in specific Talent Development initiatives, or those interested in applying, providing excellent customer service & knowledgeable support, information & guidance.
- Facilitate monitoring & evaluation of Talent Development programmes, ensuring accurate qualitative & quantitative data capture, analysis, & dissemination of findings.
- Keep abreast of developments in contemporary craft, continuing professional development (CPD) & business development to ensure their programmes remain relevant & on the leading edge of high quality provision.
- Contribute to design & development of new initiatives, researching & providing intelligence on makers’ needs & on other CPD & business support provision.
- Liaise with their enterprise, development, marketing & communications teams to ensure rich & timely communication of Taker Development programmes & positive showcasing of success stories.
- Contribute to the development & writing of funding proposals.

Whilst this role is based in London, the talent development programmes are delivered nationwide & job entails frequent travel, including overnight stays.
